🚙 Glasgow-based Munro (electric 4x4 manufacturer) raised £2m in investment to scale production of its M-Series vehicles, aimed at replacing diesel-powered commercial off-road vehicles in industries like mining, construction, and defence. UKTN TS DGT MR

🧬 Edinburgh University spinout Trogenix raised £70 million in Series A funding to advance its precision genetic therapies for aggressive, treatment-resistant cancers. The biotech will use the funding to begin phase 1 clinical trials targeting brain cancer. EUS DGT
🐾 Edinburgh-based MI:RNA is developing an AI tool for early, non-invasive diagnosis of canine osteoarthritis, which affects up to 20% of dogs worldwide. FS
♻️ Edinburgh-based Vaste is developing a Bloomberg-style trading platform for organic waste, designed to help Scottish companies meet sustainability and net zero goals. The software, created in collaboration with Edinburgh College and IBioIC, is set to launch to commercial buyers and sellers later this year. DGT IN
🏆 University of the Highlands and Islands student Christopher Kaan Caudwell won £15,000 at the 2025 Converge Awards for Gestura, an AI-powered app that translates between British Sign Language and spoken English in real time. The app aims to improve accessibility in everyday settings like hospitals, banks, and public transport. SS
🏆 ScotlandIS has opened submissions for the 2026 Digital Technology Awards, with entries due by 8 January and winners announced in Glasgow on 19 March 2026. A new “AI Trailblazer” category has been added to recognise “standout innovation in artificial intelligence”. SBN DGT
