💡The Net Zero Technology Centre’s Demo Day was last week, where cohort companies raised £860k in equity. Two companies won awards: Kali Technology (integrated heat pump tech) won the £100k Climate Impact award, and H2CHP (fuel-flexible power generator) won the £100k Economic Impact Award. The other cohort members were Airspection (Drones for safer offshore infrastructure inspection), Apleum (tech to convert renewable energy, carbon dioxide and water into zero carbon jet fuel), Frontier Robotics (autonomous underwater inspections products), HyWaves (Power management control systems for hydrogen), INERGIO Technologies (combination fuel cells and diesel generators for sustainable off-grid and backup power solutions), MECHAPRES (High-temperature heat pump with embedded thermal storage for industrial heat decarbonisation), Modjoule (container sized batteries for electrification of shipping vessels), Reaforma (construction waste to carbon negative composite), Soltropy (solar thermal tech), SurreyH2 (recirculating catalyst green hydrogen production technology). 🛰️ Edinburgh-based Sofant Technologies (developing satellite technology that uses less power) has raised £3.4 million in funding from existing investors EMV Capital, Scottish Enterprise and Kelvin Capital to finish developing its main technology and ship beta versions of its satellite antenna to customers in the fourth quarter. 🚀 Edinburgh-based Aveni (AI-assisted financial adviser tools) and intelliflo (global financial adviser platform) are teaming up to integrate generative AI into their financial advice platforms. The partnership aims to automate the financial advice process and improve compliance. FS
